About ASL EXPO

ASL EXPO, short for American Sign Language Exposition, is an entertainment celebrating the language and culture of the Deaf. It is a showcase consisting of various craft, community service and high technology booths, four storytelling stages and a major stage for lots of games. It is where ASL thrives.

ASL EXPO opens at 9:00 am, but you'll want to start your visit with a welcome remark by one of our storytelling artists outside the ASL EXPO doors at 9:45 am. Once inside the ASL EXPO, you may want to check your program for a listing of all the storytelling shows, but part of the fun of our ASL EXPOs is taking your time to visit all booths and let the language and culture of the Deaf experience unfold before you.

Pause for a moment to listen to a storytelling artist about history of famous Deaf people. Watch a demonstration of woodworking or fine cooking. Pick up the latest gossips from the neighborhood. Thrill to the Deal or No Deal games and then browse through the wares at one of several fine craft booths. There's too much to do in a single ASL EXPO!

ASL Wizard’s Corner

You must come to see wizard in ASL EXPO! He is at once isolated and connected, far yet aware, and ASL he uses makes us look at ourselves and discuss to let our minds wander as he engages us. In a world of chaos and disconnected, Wizard can only hope that he will still see surprises as a part of ASL EXPO.
